We are looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and driven Practice Manager, preferably with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Veterinary/Medical Practice Management role, to join our busy practice.  Based at our Galashiels site, you will join our established, friendly team of Vets, Nurses, and Reception staff.

As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day to day operational efficiency of the practice, including rotas, holidays and absence, health and safety, debt management, marketing, staff development and strategic planning. For this pivotal role, the ideal candidate will have strong people management skills as well as being highly organised. In addition, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong customer service orientation are paramount. You will require strong IT skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.  The role is full time, permanent and offers a competitive remuneration package, including CPD allowance, and 31 days holiday. Salary negotiable, dependent on experience.

Practice Manager – Bourton Vale Equine Clinic

A newly created position has become available due to organisational changes at our privately owned equine clinic based in Gloucestershire to join our friendly team of eleven veterinarians and clinical and non-clinical support staff.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the directors and management team in a customer focused role to help deliver exceptional customer service to our existing client base and attract new clients to grow this base, assist in the day to day management of the clinic, and help improve and innovate to drive the practice forward.

Leading a team of five receptionists, the ideal candidate will have strong people management and customer service skills, excellent administration, communication and organisational skills, marketing abilities using social media/website, client events and advertising, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Other desired knowledge and skills include but not restricted to equine or general veterinary knowledge, practice management, competent with IS/IT and personnel management practices and regulations.

The clinic is based in the heart of the Cotswolds, just off the Fosse Way (A429) between Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, in a purpose built facility allowing for surgical cases, MRI, scintigraphy and x-ray examinations, in-house laboratory analysis and stables for up to fourteen in-patients. In return for working in this busy but scenic location, the clinic can offer a competitive salary based on experience, pension scheme, holiday allowance of 20 days (increasing to 25 days on length of service), onsite car parking and the opportunity to develop this new position at the clinic. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday approximately 35-40 hours per week with an occasional Saturday morning if required.
